Overall, even though that people feel that they eat more and become inactive during the holiday season, they actually don't gain as much weight at they perceive they do. Self reported weight gain during the holiday season usually ranges from 5-10 pounds. But when the people are actually weighed, they are found to have actually only gain about 1-2 pounds. The solution to not gaining any weight would be to to keep up your active schedule and be conscientious of what you're eating.
In conclusion, during the holiday season most people gain a little to a lot of weight. With all of the food around they can't help themselves but to eat and with that comes weight gain.
